Norway day 2

2025-08-26

A great day of cycling. Today we had the option of kayaking or cycling. Three of us selected cycling, my son-in-law Phil who is 41 and done the Hawaiian Ironman, his friend Graeme who is 40 and was a professional triathlete and myself. It was a gorgeous ride essential circling a fjord.
Before this ride I thought the climb data might be incorrect because of tunnels. This true but yesterday Graeme was the only one to compete the ride because of 20-30mph headwinds. The ride was listed as 12.1k of climb. He registered 10.5k. Still an impressive ride.
I find the downhills harrowing. At the start of today's ride the temperature was 35 and the start was 6 miles descent at a 10% grade. I took the support vehicle to the bottom of the descent.

Reminds me of the end of a ride in St. Charles that ended at the St. Louis Bread Company. It makes sense that it's so cold given it's so close to fall and so far north. It couldn't be any more beautiful, but if you were to lead a trip following the same routes in the future, would you go at thecsame time of year or somewhat earlier?

Impressive. Downhills are fun, but temps in the thirties (F) aren't. Good call. RSRO

The scenery is amazing. Sounds like the "sane Al" has made a cameo appearance on this adventure.

Proud on you for taking the support vehicle. How was the Blabaer nektar?
