I hope that you are feeling better and really having fun because you only do something like this once. After that, you
know better. Sent 2009-05-13 from Ellen |
Spent 6 months in the Mojave with Uncle Sam back in the day. Visualization helped. I was thinking that sweet, scenic, cool ride from Michigania to Cross Village and back down M119 might help you. Take a deep breath of Lake Michigan air and ride on, brother. Sent 2009-05-13 from Bill and Sally |

Hi Al,
This is "Iowa" Bob from XC08. I got the XC09 blog list from CrossRoads and am trying to follow all twelve of them. I think that it would be simpler to just join the tour again.
I recognized some of the quotes from my XC08 blog in your first post. The tour will be very character building but will be well worth it. Taken one day at a time, it won't seem as bad as it sounded last year. Look at each day as another "notch" in your belt.
Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable tour.

It's not so much "Where's Lance?" as "How's Al?". Wishing you a better day after which you can say the longest ride of your journey is over. We're rooting for you! Sent 2009-05-13 from Ingrid |
Al-
Some days it gets no better than just turning the pedals over to keep moving. Other days it is much better. Impressive ride, looking forward to hearing your opinion of Arizona. Sent 2009-05-13 from Jeff Kaiser |
I don't understand your scale - usually it's on a 1 to 10 +or - scale. I've never seen -4000, although you always were a math guy. Every day at the Y so far, we all talk about starting our days reading your blog - and then the stories begin. Continue to enjoy. We all are. Sent 2009-05-13 from Larry |

Are you using navigation aids or do you just follow a leader? Compass? Map? GPS? Are there any navigational challenges on the trip? Sent 2009-05-12 from Bill P. from SMOC |
I don't know why, but I think you have a lot more fun riding around in a golf cart! Sent 2009-05-12 from mark morton |
